In 1989 there was a talent show at a community center in Charlotte, NC. Two groups competed,
one group was doing "Remember Then", and the other was doing "Blue Moon". When the second group finished their song they "Mooned" the audience. Needless to say this second group won the contest.
About two weeks later Norman Shapiro called a few guys and told them that there was a contest across town. There was a $100.00 first place prize, and a $50.00 second place prize. One of the guys was unable to participate so I received a call asking if I wanted in. I said," Yes, but I want to wear a black leather jacket, white tee shirt, blue jeans, white socks, hair slicked back and dark sunglasses. If this can happen…. Then I am in" We won the contest and got our picture in the paper. Next thing we know we are over at the rock-n-roll café eating, drinking and laughing. We had a few drinks and started playing "what if". The next thing we knew we were at the front door at Bopper’s Bar (A night club here in town) talking to the door man, telling him that we were the band! (Can you believe that?) We got through and then had to convince the DJ to clear the Floor on a Saturday Night! Somehow we ended up mooning the crowd. The whole place exploded with laughter. As we were walking off, two guys handed us their business cards and asked us if we could do their Christmas Party. The rest is history.
For the last 15 years we have been traveling the Southeast. We have opened for The Four Tops, The Temptations, and Righteous Brothers on Block Buster’s stage.
